We will introduce to you how Rosui Asakura, who works as a private tutor, uses it

The students' parents needed a way of being able to see when the tutor was available at a glance

Please tell us about the work you do as a private tutor.

My name is Rosui Asakura (business name) and I work by myself as a private tutor. It has been six years since I started working as a professional private tutor. Thankfully, my number of students has gradually increased. This year, I have 12 students, and I will have the same number of students next year as well. I teach a diverse range of students, including infants, elementary school students, junior high school students, and high school students. I have even had university students and people in their 50s. In the daytime, I teach infants and students who do not attend school, and in the evening I teach students who have returned home from school. In addition to being a private tutor, I have also worked as a psychology counsellor and calligraphy teacher, and I also have the privilege of providing child-rearing assistance to all of my students' parents.

How did you find out about TimeTree?

I am a private tutor, and I had taken on many students. I came across the app TimeTree when I was searching for a way to be able to cooperate with my students' parents more efficiently.
For me, adjusting the schedule for many students was a daunting task, and I used to make adjustments by notifying people by email or using LINE groups. However, it was still difficult for them to understand my state of affairs. I thought “why don't I make my schedule fully open to the parents?”, and looked for an app that could do that. I downloaded a variety of schedule sharing apps and tried out how easy they were to use, but when I was having trouble finding something that lived up to my ideals, I came across TimeTree.

It certainly seems like a lot of schedule adjustments and such changes would occur working as a private tutor.

That's right. I sometimes contact other parents to ask them to swap time slots when I add more lessons due to someone suddenly becoming unwell, a reduction in lessons due to trips or returning home, or to prepare for tests or exams. I was looking for something that would let them see what my current schedule was like in order for them to understand what was going on in times like that.

How do you use TimeTree?

I share “my schedule”, which includes information such as my lessons, with my private tutoring students or their parents. I currently share it with nine people. When they want to increase their amount of lessons, they check my "free time" time slots and contact me. When I enter a schedule, each task is recorded in a different color. Tasks such as "travelling", "lesson (school grade)", "free time", "counselling" and "personal plans" are differentiated by color, I share information such as my activities and the time where I can add lessons

By sharing my entire schedule beforehand, the amount of inquiries I receive about times has decreased

Has anything changed since you started using TimeTree?

The biggest change is that they can understand my circumstances, such as where I am teaching on which day of the week, that I'm doing other work, or that I won't reply at a certain time, even if they contact me. By letting the parents of my private tutoring students know my schedule, they are able to see on which days I am busy, and the schedule adjustments makes it easier for me to be flexible.

The calendar lets them see everything at one glance, and communicates whether I'm "busy" or "have time".

That's right. The households who I work for aren't one-sidedly pressuring me about what is convenient for them. Instead, they know my circumstances, too, which has created a feeling of compromise and mutual consideration between us. I feel like it has brought us closer together than we used to be. When someone tells me that they want to make changes to the schedule, I use the alteration procedure on the app right in front of me, so I also feel like it gives me a sense of security. In addition, if they suddenly want to change the schedule, the parents are now able to check the schedule for me on TimeTree before asking me. As a result, they ask me fewer questions, and I feel like my work has been made more efficient.

It has been made a lot more efficient, hasn't it? You've taught me a lot, too. Thank you very much!

It is me who should be thanking you. I will continue to use your service as you continue to
